The much-awaited moment of the year had finally arrived – our NTSPL team’s annual vacation! This year, we embarked on a thrilling 7-day office outing that took us to two vibrant and iconic cities: the City of Joy, Kolkata, and the Pink City, Jaipur. This year’s journey was filled with excitement as we explored the rich history, diverse culture, and vibrant beauty of both Kolkata and Jaipur.
Jaipur, known for its majestic architecture, colorful bazaars, and warm hospitality, welcomed us with open arms and left us awestruck at every turn. Kolkata, with its timeless charm, bustling streets, and cultural vibrancy, offered an equally enriching experience. This trip wasn’t just a break from our daily routines; it was an opportunity to bond as a team while immersing ourselves in the unique cultural richness of these two remarkable destinations.
Our adventure began with an exciting train journey from our city to Kolkata. The scenic views from the train were simply breathtaking, with lush green landscapes and picturesque towns passing by. The rainy weather added to the excitement, as the cool breeze and rhythmic sound of raindrops against the window made the journey even more memorable. It was the perfect start to what promised to be an unforgettable trip.
We visited the iconic Victoria Memorial, where the grandeur of the monument left us in awe. As we walked through the streets of Kolkata, the vibrant chaos and rich history filled the air, leaving us mesmerized.
After an unforgettable experience in Kolkata, our journey continued as we boarded a new adventure, traveling from Kolkata to Jaipur. With fresh excitement in the air, we eagerly anticipated the rich history and vibrant culture that awaited us in the Pink City.
As we passed through vast plains, we were fortunate to catch glimpses of some of India’s most iconic landmarks, including the majestic Taj Mahal in Agra and the historical Fatehpur Sikri. The train ride provided a perfect blend of natural beauty and historical marvels, setting the tone for the incredible vacation that awaited us.
Day 1 in Jaipur: Exploring the Majestic Forts and Royal History
Our first day in Jaipur began with visits to three of the most historic and awe-inspiring landmarks in the city: Nahargarh Fort, Jal Mahal, and Amber Fort. Each of these iconic sites offered a glimpse into the royal past of Rajasthan, showcasing stunning architecture, breathtaking panoramic views, and fascinating histories that transported us back to a time of grandeur and royalty
Day 2: A Taste of Royalty and Tradition at City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Chokhi Dhani
We delved even deeper into the royal heritage of Jaipur, starting with a visit to the City Palace. A majestic fusion of Mughal and Rajput architecture, it stands as a testament to Jaipur’s regal history, showcasing the grandeur and elegance of Rajasthan’s royal past.
We then explored Jantar Mantar, the world’s largest stone observatory and a remarkable feat of ancient Indian science.
The day concluded with a visit to Chokhi Dhani, a traditional Rajasthani village resort, where we were fully immersed in the vibrant and colorful culture of Rajasthan. We were warmly welcomed with a tilak and then treated to an array of cultural experiences—folk dances, camel rides, puppet shows, and a grand feast of authentic Rajasthani cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious! From dal baati churma to gatte ki sabzi every meal was a delightful journey for our taste buds. The hospitality and warmth of the staff at Chokhi Dhani made us feel completely at home. The entire village setup felt like a festive celebration, and it was the perfect place for a memorable evening out.
Day 3: Exploring Hawa Mahal, Raj Mandir, and Vibrant Local Markets
On the final day of our trip, we continued our exploration of Jaipur’s most iconic landmarks. Our first stop was the famous Hawa Mahal, also known as the “Palace of Winds.” The intricate lattice work, beautiful arches, and unique five-story structure left us in awe.
